Copyright and Removal Requests

A family photograph or a voice recording can carry rights that are easy to overlook. If material on Satogaeri uses your work without permission, or exposes a personal story you are entitled to protect, please identify the material so the concern can be reviewed.

Help locate the work

Use Send a Note with “Copyright concern” at the start of the message. Include the exact Satogaeri URL, a description of the protected work, where an authorised version can be found if available, and your relationship to the rights holder. Give an email address for follow-up. Do not attach original family records or identity documents to an initial enquiry.

For a formal copyright notice

If relying on a notice procedure such as the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the applicable procedure may require your physical or electronic signature; identification of the work and disputed material; contact information; a good-faith statement that the disputed use is not authorised by the rights holder, their agent or law; and a statement of accuracy and authority made under penalty of perjury. Requirements vary, so consider qualified advice before making a legal declaration.

This contact route is an editorial rights-enquiry channel, not a claim that a statutory designated agent has been registered. No designated-agent name or postal address is represented here. If a formal notice needs another delivery method, request the appropriate details before sending sensitive information.

Review and response

Material may be restricted or removed while a credible concern is reviewed. Further information may be requested, and relevant notice details may need to be shared with a contributor or service provider to resolve the issue or meet legal requirements. Do not include unrelated private details. A counter-notice or restoration request must follow any applicable legal procedure; an ordinary message does not automatically restore material.

A disagreement with a recollection is not always a copyright issue. Privacy, credit and factual-correction concerns are also welcome through the contact page. Please describe the outcome you are requesting, such as removal, correction or attribution.
